Warrior Prayers for the Sons of Thunder
We call our boys the Sons of Thunder partly because their names are James and Jonathan, which is close enough to the disciple brothers, James and John, to merit the comparison, but also because they are wild boys. (Of course, the phrase "wild boys" is a total redundancy.)
Jeff and I pray for our wild boys frequently, but more often than not, it's a bit like we're just running to the Throne of Grace gasping, "What the...!! Did You see that?! Now whadooIdo?"
We so often find ourselves in completely uncharted waters. What a comfort it is to know that God has the chart we lack.
Yesterday, my sister posted a link to the "21 Days of Prayer for Sons" challenge, based on the eBook Warrior Prayers: Praying the Word for your Sons in the Areas They Need It Most by Brooke McGlothlin.
Aha! A preemptive strike! A chart for the waters! How pleasing.
So we're doin' it. It's every weekday from now until April 29.
Got sons? Join us.
