From Death to Life (aka Apples to Apples Jr)

While my brother and his wife were visiting last weekend, we played Apples to Apples. We only have the junior version, because we are not old enough for the grown-up version yet.

While we played, we did that side game where the cards you win describe you. Naturally, we separated the good cards from the bad cards. Here are the bad cards I got:

But at the end of the game, I was surprised to discover that for every bad card I received, I got at least one good card to counter it. Check this out:

See how it's like Christ in our lives? Without Christ we are worthless, sinful, poor, cranky, and generally unlovable. But with His blood, Jesus washes those things out of our lives and replaces them with a new identity. He takes us from death and gives us new life (John 5:24). With Christ, we are no longer worthless; we are infinitely valuable. We are no longer sticky and sinful; we are spotless. We are precious and amazing, because of His amazing grace.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!
~2 Corinthians 5:17
