The boys gathered an assortment of stuffed animals and carefully posed each one on a different shelf in their bedroom. Then they invited Daddy and me to visit their "zoo." We photo-documented each animal in its exhibit and published a pamphlet entitled "Jay & Jonathan's Zoo." It consists of captioned pictures of stuffed animals. "This is the polar bear." "This is the rare red bull." "This is the Bowing T-Rex, bowing. He's praying for food because he's starving. He believes in God." Here's my favorite from the collection. On the left is the proud zookeeper at the zoo's front gate in his fierce black panther slippers, and to the right, his cheerful assistant sports a bonafide giraffe atop his head.
